Good Oxygenation Happens Outdoors
Tout commence par une idée.
Every atom is, under normal conditions, neutral (the same number of protons and electrons—i.e., the same number of positive and negative charges). When it loses electrons, it becomes oxidized, which is unfavorable to life. On the other hand, when it gains electrons, it becomes negatively charged, which is synonymous with life.
Near waterfalls, there are between 10,000 and 50,000 negative ions per cm³. In the mountains, 8,000; at the sea, 4,000; in the forest, 3,000; in the countryside, 1,200; in the city, 200; and in the office or a car, only 20!
Negative ions are atoms that have one or more extra electrons, and since electrons are negatively charged, they give the whole atom a negative charge. Conversely, positive ions are atoms that have lost electrons, thus having an overall positive charge. Electrons, photons, prana—these represent life. This is why places rich in negative ions are vibrant and full of life, whereas places dominated by positive ions are low in energy or energetically deficient. In fact, an electron-rich (electronegative) environment has a “positive” effect on health, and vice versa. So, offices and cars are electropositive... while mountains and the sea are electronegative.
Mountain air is known for its purity and its prana. This explains why many sanatoriums are located in the mountains. One can also find a significant amount of prana—though to a lesser extent—near moving water: torrents, waterfalls, seashores, as well as in the countryside and forests. So we can have the choice when it comes to recharging our health over the weekend!
Sources of negative ionization include the natural radioactivity of rocks, the action of cosmic or solar rays (UV, etc.), the photosynthetic process, the spraying of liquids (Lenard effect)—hence the value of fountains and waterfalls—and the friction of pine needles and grasses, either directly or caused by wind.
It is important to clear one’s mind and open up to nature, to commune with it, to know how to be silent, to absorb it... and to nourish yourself from it!
